درباره این دوره

ردپای مبانی پیوند زنی را می توان در دوران باستان یافت، دستکم هزار سال پیش از میلاد مسیح، چینی‌ها هنر پیوند زدن را می‌دونستن.
در یکی از قدیمی‌ترین کتب مربوط به کشاورزی ایران مربوط به سال 700 قمری از پیوند در باغات مطالبی ذکر شده و این نشان می‌دهد که ایرانیان باستان هم با روش پیوند آشنایی داشته‌اند. امروز تنوع محصولات کشاورزی بواسطه افزایش جمعیت بشر و توسعه تکنولوژی، نقش پیوند در باغبانی نیز به مراتب بیشتر شده است.
مهارت انجام پیوند نیز مهمترین عامل در موفقیت پیوند می‌باشد از این رو مؤسسه علمی-کشاورزی هومیان در نظر دارد موضوع پیوند در باغبانی را با دو هدف زیر گسترش دهد.
1)ارتقاء دانش و اطلاعات باغداران در خصوص انجام پیوند جهت توانمند سازی آنها برای انجام پیوند باغات خود
2)آموزش حرفه‌ای به علاقه‌مندان و افرادی که میخواهند بعنوان پیوند زن حرفه‌ای این عملیات مهم را برای سایر باغداران انجام دهند
